Michelin, official technical partner of Gran Turismo 7

Michelin innovates for a better PlayStation GT7 immersive experience on your screen.

We started our video games journey in 2000, with Michelin Rallye Masters – Race of Champions. This journey was born of a strong passion for cars and motorsport. Thanks to this legacy, and since 2019, we have been the official technical partner of Gran Turismo and the Gran Turismo World Series.

Innovation on the road and beyond is in Michelin's DNA. It was only natural for us to bring something extra to the game, to the players... In 2021, we assisted Polyphony Digital in creating the tire strategy for the Gran Turismo World Series, a strategy that brings a unique flavor and show to this competition.

In 2024, we are taking our technical collaboration a step further. For the first time, we shared our design data with a video game, allowing all Gran Turismo players to enjoy a visual experience like never before. With the new July update, players have access to a wide range of official designs from the MICHELIN Pilot Sport line, from the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S to the MICHELIN Pilot Alpin 5, including the customer racing ranges.

They are now able to experience the visual impact of innovations like Velvet Touch, which makes this range so iconic in addition to its performance, within Gran Turismo.

MICHELIN's past linked with the future

In 1895, the Michelin brothers entered a purpose-built car in the Paris-Bordeaux-Paris motor race to prove the performance of air-filled tyres. Since that storied race, we achieved a record of innovation and ultra-high performance in the most demanding and celebrated racing competitions around the world, including 27 consecutive overall wins at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans and more than 330 FIA World Rally Championship victories.

MICHELIN is the first tyre manufacturer to partner with a game developer and eSport series, with the goal of transferring real-world technology to the virtual world driving experience.
